Aging Services Consortium

Purpose Statement

To promote the health, well-being and self sufficiency of the older population of Metropolitan Detroit.

Schedule

First Wednesday every other month, beginning in January of each calendar year. 9am-11am at Hannan Foundation, 4750 Woodward Ave., Detroit.

Origins

The Aging Services Consortium was formally incorporated July 12, 1994. The Consortium grew out of a community advisory committee formed by Hannan Foundation in 1993 and was originally called the Central City Aging Services Consortium.

Objectives

- To more effectively provide quality services that respond to the needs and desires of the older residents.

- To evaluate the effectiveness of the Consortium's services and disseminate the results.

- To integrate training and research into the service provision process.

- To actively involve the community in planning and devlopment of services.

- To encourage more effective service delivery through communication and collaboration.

Efficient and Effective Use of Resources: The Consortium is committed to making the best use of the resources available.
