In 1993, in response to a Hannan study of the needs of inner city seniors, Hannan House was converted into a center for senior programs and services. Today, Hannan House offers a variety of services provided by the Hannan Foundation and its partner agencies, other social service agencies who have offices at Hannan House.
Zena Baum Senior Service Center
February, 2007 the Senior Service Center, on the third floor of Hannan House, was named in honor of Zena Baum, a Trustee of the Foundation for over 30 years. The Center provides one-stop shopping access to a number of community programs, as staff or voulnteers from these organizations to talk to seniors and link them with needed resources. The Senior Service Center is for all people, 60 and older in Metropolitan Detroit. It is open Monday-Friday, 9 am to 5:00pm. Services available are listed below. For further information, please either stop in at Hannan House, or call the above number.
University of Detroit Mercy Urban Law Clinic If you are 50 or older the clinic may be able to help you with wills, debts, mortgage, health proxy, medical bills, power of attorney, SS/SSI benefits, Medicare or Medicaid benefits. Call Pat Bladwint to make an appointment. 313-833-1300, x15
AARP Tax-Aide Service AARP volunteers are in the service center on Tuesdays and Fridatys, February 2-April 15 to help you prepare your tax return and apply for tax credits. Call Ms. Taylor at 313-833-1300 x13 to make an appointment.
